The two young girls popped out of the car and immediately took off to explore the shoreline. The sisters and their parents were visiting at my place on Eagle Harbour, Lake Huron, just south of Tobermory. This was years ago. The girls were familiar with the place and I knew they would bring some gifts; rocks, crayfish (dead or alive), maybe a fish carcass and if we were lucky some fossils. I didn’t expect that day’s gift. It appeared to be a nearly complete backbone of a small animal. I washed the bones and let them dry in the sun before placing them in a container - saved for a future photographic project. Several years later I photographed a few of the bones.
Bones - installed
I photographed three of small bones in front of a green screen, converted to them to B&W agaiinst black background.
Then I flipped each image and make a composite of each bone.
